Our Congo - featured at Batch.

Tumaini cherries sorting

‘‘Tumaini, which means Hope in Swahili, stands with coffee widows and orphans, to achieve one goal: to promote and reward the unsung contribution of women to the coffee value chain.’’

Here, at Loskop Coffee Bristol, we have been working on something special. For a while, we lacked a good filter blend, but struggled to find something that we fancied. At some point, our lovely friends from Keynote offered us Congo Washed beans, with a beautiful background.

We have been testing this coffee for a while — different profiles, brew recipes, methods — and figured out it works best with a nice Pour Over, at lower temperatures around 89–90°C, with a ratio of 1 to 17 water. This will open up this blend with notes of praline, plum jam and lemon peel.

We are proud to be featured on Batch, with both our decaf and caffeinated coffees.
